I have a L shaped rather hefty wood/particle desk currently. Its old and seen way better days as the "wood" laminate is pealing and worn away in areas specifically the keyboard draw and right above it which making using my mouse a challenge at times.

I have storage on the right and left undersides of the desk and do keep some heavy items on top the desk such as professional printer, 2 desktops, 3 (at one time 6) monitors and a bunch of other odds and ends I'm working on.

I would really like to upgrade to a tempered glass L shaped desk but I'm having trouble finding anything that looks even remotely sturdy (not because of the glass but the support system, theres vituatally no storage options and there is no backing of any real kind to the desk. (I have restless feet which no one can currently see in meetings and I'd like to keep it that way) the old desk has a hutch (i don't need that in a new desk) and the storage system consists of one under cabinet setup to hold a desktop comp however my fullheight case doesn't fit. The other side is a filing drawer which I use and an office drawer for odds and ends, i need pens, post its etc in it.

Any thoughts???

glass desks just dont tend to have the storage options or a backing to them like wooden ones do

none that i have ever seen any way

when they are made from glass they tend to be minimalistic

your best bet is another wood desk or a bespoke glass and wood combination--thats likely to be very expensive though

I've seen something close about 10 years ago when I purchased the one I have now however I can't find anything like it. It was a frosted/tempered glass top with a metal frame and metal backing. It was tasteful and modern but everything I see right now with glass looks like it would barely hold the weight of my equipment. As for storage I have work around I can implement if necessary such as a separate roll-able unit to hold files and supplies. My new computer I'm building wouldn't fit in the cabinet so I have a separate glass unit that will support it just fine already in place... There has got to be something that looks decent. I'm not worried about price... not to say I'm ready to spend $1000s but upper hundreds isn't out of the question.

I can't stand computer desks. They aren't that long nor wide enough to have your monitor setup and keyboard on the same surface when plenty of room. I got 2 medium size dining tables from Ikea. They are about 70" long and 40" wide. I got them in the corner. Then I just have little storage cubes under one corner. I have triple monitor and PC case on the longer end of the desk, a printer on the other end, and then a bunch of junk currently back in the corner. I want to get a 3D printer to have there.
