Hi guys,

Hope all you are doing well.

I am planning to buy a new gaming laptop. I am not really a hardcore gamer but will be recording, editing, rendering gaming videos to post it online. I have $1000 budget. I am from India so I have listed down few websites from where I can purchase. Additional it is nice to have 144Hz display, at least 1TB HDD (if not SSD), RTX series GPU.

Please do suggest me. Thank you in advance.

Purpose of purchase: Gaming (expecting to run most (if not all) new titles at least 60fps, video editing, rendering, streaming
Budget: $1000
Location: India
Store options: https://www.flipkart.com/

Hello Moses,

While $1,000 would normally get you a ton of laptops to choose from, your added requirements that yours include an RTX GPU and be capable of running 'most if not all new titles' @ 60FPS do limit the range quite dramatically. And the fact that you'll be shopping via either Flipkart or Amazon IN kinda makes this a Mission Impossible.

Assuming $1,000 is roughly 75,000 Flipkart have this MSI:

https://www.flipkart.com/msi-gf63-t...COMG5AWTQQAJWP8B.SEARCH&ppt=browse&ppn=browse

PROs: Screen refresh rate is 144 Hz and the GPU is an RTX series. CONs: The SSD is 'only' 512GBs and the 3050 card is 'only' 4GBs of VRAM. So, you get a nice screen and decent storage on a fast disk, but you won't be doing an awful lot of serious gaming with 4GBs.

If you can stretch your budget - and I do mean streeeeetch - to something like ₹1,10,000 AND compromise on the CPU/GPU brand, then Flipkart will gladly sell you this one instead:

https://www.flipkart.com/msi-alpha-...COMG5AWTKZNFCVFT.SEARCH&ppt=browse&ppn=browse

PROs: It delivers on all important counts, not least 8GBs of VRAM, a 1TB SSD, and a nice 144Hz screen. CONs: It's not an RTX series card, but you'd have to shell out close to ₹2,00,000 to get one of those.

Amazon IN of course have lots of gaming laptops but they either top out at 4GBs of VRAM (your budget) or are listed at ₹1,20,000 and above.

I'll leave you to it.

Hello GreyCatz,

Thanks for your suggestion and efforts.

Yes, it makes sense to invest more and get 6 or 8GBs of VRAM (GPU). I am fine with GTX series as long as it is future proof (3-4 years at least) and not 4GBs of VRAM. Off course future games will require more powerful machine.

A question for you, since I never had MSI gaming laptop, how good it is? In terms of heating, stability etc.
