Hi!

Looking to buy my wife a new Windows laptop for her birthday. Here are the general requirements...

-General apps, Office, browsing, etc.
- Touchscreen with foldable option to use as tablet
- Fairly rugged (especially touchpad)
- Ideally less than $1,000 but flexible

Any suggestions on which models I should look at? Good sites/retailers, deals, etc. all appreciated.

Thanks!

If that is the use of the laptop, I suggest Linux.
Linux Mint Cinnamon is the closest to windows and they have many themes you can customize with.
All office apps. are free.
General rule of thumb, the one with the best warranty. AMD in general are cheaper than Intel.
Stay away from mixbreed CPU & GPU, Intel goes with their own UHD graphics for an integrated solution.
Nvidia if you want more graphics punch. AMD with AMD. Nothing less than i-5 for intel or Ryzen 5 for AMD.
If you want it to run fast and last longer. I'd stay away from Chrome, HP or Dell.
Newegg is always a good source, but Amazon has the variety.

Thanks guys. Bought a Samsung Galaxy 360 2-in-1 yesterday and so far it's great. 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Appreciate the suggestions.
