Hey all, I'm hoping some of you can help suggest a GPU I can replace my old one with. All my tests are saying this card is lacking power and I've been looking into a few but don't know enough to decide without some opinions, so without further ado.

I currently have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2GB.

I was looking at a MSI Geforce GTX 1650 super 4GB.

I have a few others I was looking at but they aren't rated as highly and are considerably more money.

Did some looking - that monitor came out in 2012, and is 1920x1080 resolution, with a 60Hz refresh rate, and no FreeSync or GSync (it predates those technologies).

The RX 580 8GB and the GTX 1650 Super perform about the same.

I did a quick search on the RX 580 8GB, GTX 1650 Super, and GTX 1660, sorted by price:

That $169.99 RX 580 8GB gets you the best bang for the buck. It does consume more power than the Nvidia cards, but the price is hard to argue with.

That said, the lowest price 1650 Super is $199.99. Strangely enough, the lowest-price GTX 1660 is also $199.99, and is...

What are the rest of your system specs: CPU and RAM?

What are your monitor specs:
  • Resolution?
  • Refresh rate?
  • Does it have Freesync, GSync, or neither?
    • If FreeSync, what is the FreeSync range?

My computer is pretty old.

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M PRO
RAM: Vengeance Lp Ddr3 8gb (2x4gb), 1600mhz
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
Monitor is a BenQ GW2760HS (Not sure what you're asking about it?)

Your monitor limits you to displaying 60 frames/sec because of the 60Hz refresh, but, with the 1660, you will have far fewer occurrences of your FPS dipping below that.

That particular 1660 is a single fan version, but I imagine you won't be stressing the card too much at 1920x1080. Keep VSync turned on.
