Need suggestion for best battery laptop

I'm looking for models from the year 2017 to 2019
tight budget that's why I'm looking for older models
the main usage is for office work and watching video
not going to use on any gpu extensive workload

should I go for Celeron / Pentium or i3 or i5?
just want to make sure that the laptop will be able to hold its charge as long as possible.

If you are concerned about battery life, choose a CPU which doesn't use alot of wattage (TDP).

This older i3 uses up to 15W https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...core-i36100u-processor-3m-cache-2-30-ghz.html

This newer Pentium uses up to 6W https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-n5030-processor-4m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html

I believe the newer pentiums are a 2core 4thread or 4/4 which should be plenty for just work & watching videos.

Just make sure you get an SSD!

dont get a n5030 i have one and its pretty silent but even on a single core load (even watching a video) or even using the gpu to watch youtube ive seen it throttle down to 1.8 ghz and sometimes even less because of the low tdp and you cant even increase it using xtu or throttlestop

edit: i remembered that you could always just decrease the tdp of a more higher end cpu using throttle stop and it could use less battery too

Why do you need long battery life if you will be in an office environment where you can operate plugged in?

Older laptops often came with different battery run time capabilities.
And, even then, the times were not great.
If you buy used, be prepared for a battery replacement.
One option is to have a spare battery around in case you need longer run times.

Older processors are a bit slow. The best way to compensate is with a ssd.
I would never buy a laptop without the ability to have a ssd for the C drive.
