Hello, i have a question regarding a new rig, for work purposes.

So, at our work, we need some new rigs. We use them for live video feed/surveillance. More specifically we use software like Milestone, NUUO and a web browser based service, called Immix.

Our current rigs are very slow in general, performance wise, and since we are the ones working with it, we are kind of fed up with it. We run around 3-4 monitors per computer, right now.

We are running on Lenovo Thinkstation D20 (4155 K1G)
CPU: Intel Xeon E5645 @ 2.40 Ghz
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 (unknown clock rate and latency)
GFX: Nvidia GeForce 210 & Nvidia GeForce 660 GTX

What would you recommend for our purposes? Keep in mind, we would love to be able to connect more monitors in the future(say 6-8) per pc, but not an absolute most, whatever is most reasonable, we are mostly interested in a setup, that would allow us to run the forementioned software, without any hiccups.

We are NOT going to use it for ANY 3D, rendering, editing, gaming etc. at all.
As for the budget, im thinking at most 4.000$ USD

Also note that they are most likely gonna run for at least 16-18 hours per day, mostly even 24/7.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Alright since your running 24/7, Western Digital Purple Drives will do the job nicely!

I recommend a better xeon, with 16 gigs of ram. The 16 gigs will allow multiple programs to run at once.

Case: Nothing special
