I'm looking for a Z390 mobo whose features are well supported in Linux.
Like hardware monitoring software and drivers.
Which of the big mobo companies are the most open-sourcey?

Just my 2¢...

I've consistently used MSI MBs with Debian for a very long time, and haven't had a problem with hardware monitors and obtaining drivers that allow for the full use of the hardware capabilities. In fact, MSI used to distribute firmware blobs for Linux--when needed--on their MB CD-ROM discs.

As my current DT is quite long in the tooth, I can't speak to the goings-on with MSI in the past year; however, I have no hesitation in restricting my build plans to MSI for my MB selection. So far, they "just work".

Other vendors may have equal Linux 'friendliness' to them, but I am at the stage where I am taking the known path of least resistance--particularly given how much $$$ I am planning to spend on this build. LOL
