suggestions on ati hd 7770 and 500w psu....

hello people I am planning to buy a new graphic card for moi desktop and a psu also if its necessary thts y need your suggestions over it.....I had a GeForce 9800gt which got burnt and cannot be replaced or repaired thts why I did a local survey in d market and on the internet and thought of buying a ati hd 7770 which costs me around $145 which I can afford .also I checked tht this particular graphic card needs a 500w power supply hence am planning to buy a corsair cx500 coz it fits moi budget but the amd website says tht corsair gs500 will be suitable for this card but t dosent fir moi budget ....I have windows 8,amd phenom 2 x4 840 processor,4 gb of ram and a400wvip power supply ,1 tb hard disk,i asus motherboard but not sure which model ..... I am a hardcore gamer so pls suggest accordingly .....tks

A 7770 will work fine on half that, PSU requirements are bloated, so what you've already got should suffice.

will it work on a vip 400w psu??? or Is there any psu which is much more cheaper than this corsair cx500 tht would suffice the card and over heat it .....
