Lets try not to laugh here but i have 250 dollars and i want to build the best possible computer for the price. I'm looking at this so far

I have a sata hard drive, and optical drives already. I want to overclock to about 3.3(which is what Ive heard is safe with a basic cpu cooler. What do you guys think? Is there anything better for the price? I am broke so please no jokes about the pricing thanks in advance

Not bad but I would definitely stay away from micro-atx. I just find it to be a huge pain in the arse to work with and do not recommend it.

Take a look at this option. I notice you have not included a GPU. Do you intend to game or will this be a surf/media pc? If you intend to game I think it might be better to save up a few $ rather than try to fit a crappy card into this budget. You can build a pretty nice system and when you have a few extra bones make it a super nice system with a decent card. If you do not intend for this to be a gaming computer, this will more than satisfy you.

I included a basic cpu fan as it will be sufficient.

This is a very fast, reliable board. I recently built a budget system for a friend using it. Take a look at the reviews.

Nice CPU enough said

Same memory you selected. You can’t beat that deal.

Basic fan. All that is needed unless you plan to aggressively OC

Like I said this would be a good build and you would be able to add up to 8MB of memory and a nice video card later.

Take a look

Hey thanks for the reply! I want to build it to do some music recording and editing. I have an external audio interface so that takes care of the sound card, do i need a good graphics card for music editing? do you think i should even bother overclocking if i get the cpu you suggest? thanks again for the reply

As far as over clocking the 6000+ is a fast CPU as is. The factory clock speed of 3.0 will be sufficient. Remember this is a dual core CPU and you will really notice the benefit of using such while editing music, video ect.
I do guarantee though, one day curiosity or boredom will get the best of you and you will be in your bios changing the FSB. lol it happens to us all. I just hit 4.0 on my E8400 yesterday and I'm already looking at the next mountain.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask. If not have fun with your build and post after completion to give us the good news that everything is a-ok.

oops , I lost the first half of my post.

Welcome !

This board uses the geforce8200 chipset. It will handle web browsing , flash games and all your music editing. As long as your're not gaming this will do just fine.
