Hi, I have an old desktop that I've been using as a HTPC for many years now. It's been working perfectly until a few months ago when the video card died. I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement card that is less than $100 CAD, preferably closer to $50. I don't play any video games on it. I only use it to watch movies with Kodi on a 1080p TV via HDMI.

My case tends to overheat so a card that can stay relatively cool would be nice so that it doesn't die too soon. I have a regular mid tower size case. My only main requirement is that it be a Nvidia chipset card.

Here's a newegg (Canada) link to search results for Nvidia chipset cards between $50 and $100 to make it easier: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007708%20600030348%204026%204027&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=BESTMATCH&PageSize=30

I haven't bought a video card in so long that I don't even remember what to look for. So any suggestions would be really appreciated! :)

That looks like a good card, especially for the price! And I've always had a good experience with EVGA cards. Thanks for the reply. :)

Two quick questions: (1) Will 1GB memory be enough for my use? (2) Would you recommend getting the 3 year replacement plan for $15, considering that my case tends to overheat a lot?

For HTPC 1Gb will be more than enough, and no, replacement plan not worth it at this level of hardware. EVGA has a great warranty (and customer support) on their own.
