Ill keep this short and sweet, below is my current system:

CPU: i7 2600k @ 4.5Ghz

GPU: GTX 1070

RAM: 16 Gb 1600

PSU: Corsair CX750

Motherboard: EVGA Z68

Monitor: Acer Predator x34 (3440 x 1440)

This is the system I am waiting to purchase (Not the entire system, just the important bits):

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-9700K - 8-Core 3.60GHz, 4.90GHz Turbo - 12MB Cache

GPU: RTX™ 3070 VENTUS 2X OC

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4/3200mhz Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB w/Heat Spreader

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB Pro XT High Performance Liquid Cooling System w/ 240mm Radiator

PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W 80+ Gold Modular

Would my new parts see a notable performance increase on my Acer Predator x34 (3440 x 1440)?

Thanks

It's great but I would really not buy the 9700K. It's from 2018, 8C/8T as @sizzling said. At this point I would rather wait for Intel 11th gen, or buy Ryzen 5000. Probably a 5800X with that GPU

Also, if you buy Ryzen, I'd suggest you get the G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB 3600Mhz CAS 16-16-16-36. It's the best kit for Ryzen value wise.

And you could also buy a 3060 Ti and OC it to 3070 level performance if you want a better looking card like Strix or something.

Solution
The 5800X is indeed a better CPU, ....if you can find one...

That being said the 9700K still does quite well in all gaming comparisons, and is a good value at current $260-ish pricing, however,..the 5600X is indeed faster...(but was/is largely unavailable when folks wanted/want one) The 10700K is also quite snappy, albeit pricier, but, with 8c/16t...

the 3070 is a monster upgrade over a GTX1070.
