Super Annoying Sound Problem

Trying to fix an issue with my dad's laptop (Dell Inspiron 15r 5521 with Windows 10). The audio won't work at all. It detects the speakers and audio jack just fine in Audio Devices (it even detects when I plug in headphones) but the sound bar to the right of them is gone and I just get a "X Speaker" icon on my taskbar. Reinstalled the Realtek drivers (even used an earlier version), used the Windows drivers, reinstalled Windows 10 and nothing. I even dug out an old Bluetooth speaker and it still won't output audio after I paired with it. Even doing the Windows Diagnostics on it just fails and gives me "An known error occurred." Really running out of options here. Anyone know what else to check?

Have you tried going to the Dell website and run their diagnostics app? click support / diagnostics

Enter you dell service tag or click detect PC while on your dads pc

You may need to reinstall specific dell audio drivers. good luck

It passed all the tests with the full check. I did the audio one separately since it wasn't in the full test for some reason. It just asked if I heard a beep, I said no, it failed.

The audio drivers from Dell were the Realtek drivers I mentioned.
