Super glue on DC power jack?

Hi all -- A section of the DC power jack in my laptop broke off. It's a very clean break along the black plastic & I'm wondering if i can use a tiny bit of super glue to re-affix (taking great care to ensure the glue is on plastic ONLY)? Would it melt, is fume a concern, etc.? If super glue is a no-go, is there another adherent I could use instead? A glue stick, perhaps, or double-sided tape?

Since the port you're talking about and eventually is the ficus of attention in this issue, the port will see multiple use, as in, the laptop's power plug will constantly be taken of and plugged back in as time goes on so this brings in an issue with using simple forms of adhesive or adherent. You could get by with superglue but that will not bond well with two irregularly shaped pieces of plastic and will only compound with layers when they constantly break off and you reapply superglue to affix the port.

You may want to either:
a| Look into JB Weld - It's a 2 part epoxy
or
b| Look into a new shell for your chassis and have a technician swap out the case and effectively the broken bit.

Cheaper would be the JB Weld route but will be unsightly. Might I ask what the make and model for your laptop is?

Thank you for your response! I had already tried super glue by the time you wrote, & u were right about the bond not being strong enough -- it rebroke w/in hours. I'll try JB Weld & hope that works. Thanks for the suggestion!
