Super high temps amd x4 860k cpu

my temps are about at 70 degrees idel but when i play a game like bo3 my cpu temps go to like over 80- 90 degrees even hits at 100 degrees. Im using the stock cpu cooler what can be the problem ? If i have to which is the best aftermarket cooler to get under $20 ? thanks

Have you bought this CPU recently? Might have done something wrong applying the heatsink, unless the heatsink is faulty. It's supposed to run an X4 860K below 70 degrees if not overclocked.

I've had this CPU for a while now I just noticed this problem today and my fan does spin idk if I need to reapply thermal paste or buy a after market CPU cooler

Try perhaps reseating the CPU Cooler and reapplying thermal paste before anything else. If those don't fix your issue, then you can look into a cheap CPU cooler. You could get the Cryorig M9A, arguably one of your better options in this price range.
