Super low price of graphics cards on ebay

Would it be safe to buy a really cheap gpu on ebay that claims it's new in the box? For example, there's a 1070 that says it's new in the box for only 55 dollars. Would I get cheated if I bought it?

You'd be getting ripped off.

If it's too good to be true, odds are it is.

I saw an RX 580 for 20 dollars a couple days ago that claimed it to be new in the box.

If only I could get one that cheap. I wonder what would of happened if someone bought it. Maybe they'd get sent a piece of paper saying you've been fooled.

Generally, they're very old GPUs that they manipulate so that it reports it being a new one. And sometimes, they don't even bother to do that.

They would get nothing.
Quite possibly just a hacked ebay account.
