Super slow DL speed!

I've got a 10Mbps plan so I should be download anywhere from 500kbps to 1.25MBps ideally, but I'm currently peaking at about 100kbps, which is horrid.

I did a speed test to confirm this and I am receiving a ~1.25Mbps result, which verifies my 100kpbs download speed.. but why is it so low?

I've tried wired directly to the modem and to the router (which was hooked up to the modem)

Both yielded the same results..

So that leads me to believe it's my LAN Adapter for my computer or some sort of cap being placed on a component..

Checked my router settings; Updated my LAN Adapter drivers and checked those settings as well..

Any thoughts?

Is this a recent problem, has it ever been fast? can you try a different computer connected directly to see if its the line or just your lan, Can you log on to the modem and see what speed it's synced at.

Ask your ISP to run tests what speed you should be able to get?
