Question Super slow laptop !

I have an hp omen

17-w294nz​

specs:
i7 7700hq
GTX 1070
16 gb ddr4 2400mhz
and a new ssd from samsung 980
The laptop is super slow even with the ssd that the laptop came in so i thought it may be the ssd since i had an issue like that before, but no.
Before geting a new ssd i tried puting windows 10 on it and same thing, try using ultra performane power pland and again the same thing, there are now issues with the gpu nor the cpu, no error shows.
The only thing broken on this laptop is the display but i do not see how the screen can affect the performance of the laptop!

It is slow in windows, like using a hard drive, the gpu cpu and ram usage are all below 20%

never mind, i had to go to hp and install all of the chipset drivers for this laptop, tho i have other problem , trying to benchmark unigine haven the gpu(gtx 1070) is consuming only 50w of power , and i have poor performance because of this.

actually nothing got solved, the laptop still moves really slow like i have a hard drive on it not an actuall ssd. Do not know what to do also the gpu is not being used with or without the adapter!

The ssd is brand new, samsung 980 evo, and power plan on ultra performance, I put windows 10 on it and it works fine, game performance is not fine but i think is because of the knock off 230w adapter that i got with the laptop

So you got the laptop 2nd hand?

Did the previous owner report any issues with it?

the only problem was the screen which i replaced

Have you tried doing a clean boot by going to System Configuration (msconfig), Boot Tab and choosing Clean Boot and testing? Might be worth a shot.

i haven't tried, i will keep that in mind. I just looked in Device manager and it appears a warning sign on PCI Device

I would go back to HP's site and try to figure out which chipset driver you're missing then. That could be the source of your issues.
