Super slow SSD internal transfer speeds

Can anyone give me a clue as to why my HDD to SSD transfer speeds between my internal drives is so painfully slow? It fluctuates between 2.5MB/s peaking around 30MB/s but hovers in the bottom 3rd of those speeds all the time. For reference I have 2 500GB 5400rpm HDDs RAID0 to 1TB and a 128GB SSD.

How much free space is on the SSD? If your SSD is too full they can be slow. Some SSDs had a firmware issue where they got slow if they were more than half full. It could be the way the RAID was created.
