Super slow WiFi

Hi,
I have Time Warner Cable's 50Mbp/s package, and I get great steady 50-60Mbp/s on Ethernet. However, I get super slow (0-12-Mbp/s) Wifi. We have 20 devices connected (6 phones, 4 PCs, 3 Steaming devices, 3 game consoles, 4 tablets) on the average day over Wifi. We have the Ubee router/modem that they gave us when we signed up. How can I get it so these devices all connect smoothly? I know business do it with more then we have, but i'm not sure how it's possible. Does a range extender help with this?
Thanks

If they are all connected WiFi...it will be slow for any particular device. You are splitting 50Mbps between 20 potential devices.
If all are doing something at the same time, that means 2.5Mbps per device, max.
Add to that the general WiFi speed issues, especially with multiple devices, all talking to the same antenna.

With only one device testing, yes, you should get ~50Mbps. With 20 devices....everything goes through that one pipe. Your main recourse is a larger pipe. Secondarily, turn some of that junk off...lol.
A 'range extender' will probably make things worse.
