I’m looking for where the power button header is on my supermicro x8dtu-f mobo. Can anybody give me the pinout diagram please???

Will this work with a standard atx power switch header??

Obviously; it will also work if you temporarily short them with a screwdriver, a jumper, etc. All a switch does is short 2 pins, nothing else.

Let me clarify my question will it work with a standard universal atx power button header or is it only proprietary headers???

A power button (it really is a switch) has 2 wires; it shorts them together only while you keep the button depressed. An ATX front panel power button can't be proprietary; it simply is a temporary switch. If I were you I'd be more concerned by other requirements for that server motherboard.
