Supervisor password

Does anyone know what system requires a "Supervisor" password, not
"Administrator"?

This is for a broadband setup that doesn't work. As soon as you try to
access the Internet, you are asked for a "Supervisor" password.

Is it Internet Explorer that is asking for the supervisor password?
