Supply Lines

I am playing through the game the 2nd time and played the Supply Lines
mission last night. Don't know whether it is because of my flying
experience the 1st time round but this time, but I could complete this
in one try and with almost half of my fuel left.

I remember reading on the PS2 board that many people ran out of fuel in
this mission and that the fuel meter is more like a timer because fuel
decreases at the same rate when in the air, regardless of throttle
pressed or not.

However, on the PC version, the fuel limit does not seem to be a
problem at all ....and it does seem that if I do not hold down the "W"
button (the throttle), the fuel will not decrease ...does it seem like
the mission is tuned to be less difficult on PC?

Sounds like, to me. It's just this side of impossible on the PS2.

Doing this mission on PC i only just made it back to base with my fuel
almost run out.

I returned back with more than half a tank.

However my strategy was rather lame.

I worked out their path.

Parked the plane on the ground in front of the target and then opened
fire.

Of course the plane sitting on the ground used no fuel!

at least the first zero mission anyways.
regardless of experience, that first one is
almost certainly a very hated mission by all.

even on my later play-throughs, upon failing it,
i relax, and always enjoy a good cleve
"mini-gunning down of zero" L0L
it seems to help ease the humiliation.

however the rest of the zero missions
get easier with age. "new model army"
is like good clean geek fun.

maybe it's because....you're a pro now. :)
nice work. glad to hear some positive vibes on this.
i played it on my friend's PC, he couldn't do it at all.
(failed the first zero, that's how this started - i helped him)
not only the timer was not an issue, but once the
regular strategy of "first two southerly most drivers"
are out of the way, it's not that difficult at all.

Similar to me. It took me two tries to get the hang of the controls, and
then I just landed a little ahead of each of the targets and opened
fire. A shame you can't use the plane as a weapon in the game - that
machine gun is wicked powerful...

Funny..I always go for the two northern targets first, and I didn't find
this mission difficult at all (whereas I nearly smashed my PS2
controller on the first one, curse you Berkeley!)
