Question Surface GO vs Ipad air

So im looking to buy a new laptop/tablet as my dell latitude e6430 atg is showing its age. Ive been looking around for laptops/tablets and the surface go stood out. I looked at the 8gb variant as 4gb is just not enough for windows now. Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y? A dual core processor? At 1.6Ghz? Im pretty sure the ipad Air would be a greater investment but i wanted other peoples views or opinions before i buy.

I was also looking at waiting longer to get a surface pro 6 or ipad Pro, is it worth the wait and which ones better? I very much like the quad speakers on the Ipad. But is performance better on the surface?

iPad is a clear winner for reliability, performance & display clarity. I bought my wife an iPad Pro to replace her Windows laptop, very impressed with it on all counts (relatively pricey but that's to be expected with Apple devices).
