Question Surface Pro 4 can't boot up properly ?

Nov 6, 2014

Yesterday my Surface pro 4 was forced shut down because the battery ran out. Ever since then it is unable to boot up properly.
Every time I turn it on the display shows a blue screen, written on top:
" Automatic Repair Your PC did not start correctly Press "Restart" to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press "Advanced options" to try othe options to repair your PC."

Pressing "Restart" brings me back to the same situation a few moments later

The "Advenced options" are : Turn off your PC - Continue to windows 10 - Use a device - troubleshoot

Turning it off, continuing to windows and clicking on "use a device" yield the same results as pressing "restart"

Troubleshoot has many options: command prompt - System restore - Startup repair - Reset PC - uninstall updates - Startup settings - UEFI Firmware Settings

  • I don't know how to use command prompt codes
  • I have no saved restore points
  • Same outcome as restarting
  • I have a lot of very important files that are not backed up
  • This option does not work at all
  • Does nothing but restart
  • I have yet to find anything useful so far
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you very much for your time
