Hi,

Hope I've put this in the right place.

All devices: computer, router, etc. are plugged into a surge protector.

My powerline adaptor is plugged into a normal socket, but has an ethernet cable running to my surge protected router. The computer is connected via ethernet to the router.

I was wondering if this was a problem, such that the powerline adaptor could transfer a power surge to the router, and in turn to other decices?

Thanks!

Solution
In theory yes, in fact I have seen this happen (my router got fried by a surge and burned anything plugged into it).

However you should not plug a powerline adapter into a surge protector as it affects its connectivity. So its kind of a catch 22.....

Rogue Leader, thank you very much for the info. Catch 22 indeed, then. *sigh*

Sorry for the delay getting back, I didn't get the email to update me on the thread (I think!)

Thanks again!
