Is it worth to get a power surge? Will it mess with my build performance? Also, if I were to get one what is a recommended power surge that I should get..

Solution
Yes, surge protection is worth it. It will have no effect on performance.

Surge protection is like insurance. The more worried you are about a power surge and the more valuable your asset (computer) is, the more you want to spend on surge protection. I live in an area where we have lightning 3-5 days a month, so I have a whole house surge protector and small surge protectors on each computer.

Recommendation ... Look for a joule rating. The bigger the number, the more protection you get. Balance rating with price to find your best choice.

Solution
I plan on plugging in my pc, 2 monitors and WiFi into the surge. Would this be an alright surge to use, I read the reviews and they were 90% 5 stars.

Not a bad choice ... Here is another.

This one shuts off power to the plugs when the surge protection is "used up". Clearly a big surge (lightning strike) will burn up you protection, but what many people don't realize is a number of small surges can do the same thing. Surge protection wears out over time. While the Bototek unit is UL listed, it does not state that it indicates or shuts off power when protection is "used up".
