I’ve had the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC for a while now, and one irritating detail I’ve noticed is that when I try to use surround sound, there is a noticeable delay. It’s not just one specific game, either; everything from Rainbow 6 to Minecraft to TF2 has this delay and I have no clue what causes it. Any ideas on what the problem is and how I could solve it?

Solution
From what I can see, the SteelSeries uses DTX Headphone X to virtualize surround sound onto a stereo output. If it's anything like the Dolby Headphone I'm familiar with, it does add some latency to the audio output; how bad it is depends on the drivers of the device you are using. My soundcard can do it effortlessly, but I've used USB headsets that add a good half second delay to the output.

Stupid question, just to make sure nothing weird is going on: Do you have your speaker configuration set to 2.0 or 5.1? If the configuration is anything like Dolby Headphone [which again, is what I'm familiar with], then it should be set to 5.1. It's possible if set to Stereo that is causing problems downstream.
