Suspected phone scam? 2018

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right category for this, but some phone number +44785568737 texted me by my name, saying (name), sinut on mainittu tassa kuvassa: ((name), you have been mentioned in this photo). Then it follows it with a link going to "yournewphoto.online" with some random numbers and letters. Is this some scam I don't know? Thanks

Yes of course it's a scam. Delete anything like that, text, email, etc...

And that is how they get people that are not aware of proper security with viruses and scams. They use names or contacts you may know in fake emails, find out your name and number from a hacked database after a data breach, etc... Someone sees an email from their best friend Joe that states "look at this picture you may like it" and next thing they are locked out of their computer with some pop up telling them to pay $500 to unlock it.
