Swap hard drive from one to another same as.

Can you swap hard drives from one computer to another if they are the same? The reason is I had one hit by lightening. I believe hard drive is ok. I found another computer the same as the one I have Minus the lightening. Have a lot of software and files to reload if not.

Being the same make/model PC, you should be just fine with the swap. I don't see a problem there as long as the drive itself wasn't damaged.

So if the drive is ok then it should be as easy as removing the new drive and installing the old one and it should be just like it was before the strike. Still learning. Thanks
