Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me as I've got an issue that's driving me wild!

I've recently upgraded my system with a new case, motherboard, PSU and GPUs, and I'm planning on turning everything I didn't get from my old system into a PC for my girlfriend and I can use in our living room for game streaming.

The specs are:

  • CPU - Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary
Motherboard - Asus ROG Maximus VI Gene
    GPU - Sapphire AMD R9-280 Dual-X
    RAM - 8gb Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3
    PSU - Corsair CX600
    Storage - 1tb WD Black 7200rpm
    Case - Corsair Obsidian 350D

The only thing different for the system now, aside from storage, is it previously has a i5-4670k, which is now in my main system.

However, since I installed the G3258, the system will not post, and the motherboard's error display reads '00'.

Please help!
Alex

You likely need to upgrade the BIOS on the motherboard - it will date back to before the CPU was released.

I think those boards have the ability to flash the BIOS even without the right CPU, correct?
