I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard from an Asus m5a97 let r2.0 to an Asus gamer pro 970. I'm not changing any other hardware, other than that. My question is what do I need to do software wise to get ready for this upgrade? Can I just plug everything in and turn it on? I feel like that's too easy, and I dont want to screw up my system. And help would be appreciated

Solution
Backup your data first.
a motherboard swap will require a windows re-installation and re-activation of your OS.
Backup data, replace motherboard, reinstall windows, reinstall all programs, restore your data.
