Swapping AMD Ryzen CPUs

Can i swap about my AMD Ryzen 3 1200 for a Ryzen 7 1700 (both have the stock coolers)? or is this a bad idea

It would be nice to know the motherboard and the rest of the system. But yes, that should be no issue if you're sure about the cooler.

Should be no issues what so ever, Should just drop it in and good to go, You probably should update the bios for performance improvements if you haven't yet.
