Swapping CPU and RAM across Motherboards

If motherboards have the same designation, for example LGA 1366, does that mean that CPU and RAM from one would be compatible with another?

Reason I ask is that my ASUS Sabertooth X58 (LGA1366) has just died, so I'm looking for the most cost effective and least troublesome solution.
ie: one that will involve only the purchase of a replacement board at a reasonable price.
