Swapping CPUs - need thermal solution?

OK so I'm taking a Q6600 out of one PC and putting it into another (to replace an E6600), putting a new Q9550 into the original PC.

If I'm using the standard, OOB coolers, should I get thermal paste for the Q6600, just in case?

Or ah heck OOB cooling and get some nice, QUIET ones?

Yes. Always clean off old paste and reapply new paste when changing heatsinks.

Stock heatsinks or aftermarket depends on how much overclocking you want to do.
