Swapping graphics cards regularly?

I have an old GTX 950 that I would like to use for mining cryptocurrencies half the time, and a new GTX 1060 that I would use for gaming. Will the drivers conflict if I just leave the 950 drivers on? Can I swap them frequently without trouble?

Excessive wear and tear on the slot and card.
Define 'frequently'.

Also, is mining with that GPU (either one) actually doing anything except sucking up electricity?

Those slots aren't made for the pressure and wear of swapping components. It's really best to install then leave alone. You could do it and get lucky and have no issues, but why? Isn't that 1060 more powerful? And isn't it using roughly equivalent amounts of wattage?

The 1060 uses about the same amount of power a gtx 950 does so no need to swap. Also frequent swapping will break the pcie slot. Also mining with a gpu hasn't been profitable since 2013.
