Hello,

A cousin of mine has a Laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660 that is already a few years old, so he has bought a Lenovo ideapad 330 that comes with SSD. Now, I have cloned the toshiba disk (which was formatted not long ago and put on windows 10) to the Lenovo's SSD because it has some delicate software very hard to reinstall. The problem is that the windows logo comes out but after a few seconds the screen goes black. Does anyone know what it could be?

PS: I have already put the legacy mode to boot the disk.

Yes I cloned it. I guess it might be incompatible drivers, but i did this with a lot of laptops and this is the first times... I'm guessing maybe something with the system partition.

I'd be 99% certain that this is to do with you using a windows installation from one machine on a different machine, sometimes it works, often it does not.

What I don't understand is that if it is a 'clean' installation why not just do the clean installation on the target hardware?

If it is a very clean installation you could use sysprep, but it's not ideal.
