Hello everyone, my friend and I have essentially the same build aside from the mobo. 3800x, EVGA 3080s, Trident Z ram. I opt'd for a X570 mobo and he opt'd for a B550 mobo. Recently his system seem to have bricked itself and can't even get into the BIOS anymore, his ASUS mobo error code was suggesting it was a CPU issue. Both systems are 4 year old builds.
Since our systems are almost identical, is there any risk of swapping parts for trouble shooting? (Will I be putting my system at risk?). We are planning to swap his CPU into my system and revert back, and then swap his Ram into my system and revert back. I figure there is probably no risk since I know my system works and wouldn't cook anything he has, and if his CPU or RAM is dead it shouldn't mess up anything on my end. At this point I'm not willing to put my parts into his since I'm not sure what the issue was and maybe it was his mobo that killed his components.
Thanks in advance!!
