I finally figured out why my system wouldn't go above 169 mhz fsb. At 170 the memory settings were automatically changing to timings that wouldn't run well dual channel mode. To remedy this I did what any self respecting overclocking would do...I just kept cranking up the fsb until the timings reverted back to what they were (183mhz). My final OC was:
195 mhz fsb memory in synch
CPU @2440 mhz @12.5x Vcore 1.75
I couldn't get any more multipliers without unlocking it. Also, my Volcano 7+ was at 6000 rpm just to keep it under 47 degrees. That's too loud for normal use. I backed it off to just 2700 speeds at 1.6 V. It runs at nice, cool 40 degrees at the lowest speed setting. If you can't tell...I'M FRIGGIN EXCITED ABOUT MY $50 WONDER!!!

Thought you were claiming 3100 Mhz but 2440 Mhz is great! (2263 Mhz at 2.15 volt is the best that I can do - JIUHB 0302 DUT3C).

What stepping, week, default voltage is your XP1700+?

99% is great, unless you are talking about system stability

all i cud get from my JIUHB 0309 DUT3C 1700+ was 2137MHz at 1.9V. But then mine is a A7V8x mobo with DDR333 2.5-3-3-7T RAM.

somebody stop me!!

Really? That's Interesting.

I was lead to believe all the XP1700+s from week 7 onward were DLT3C, the "L" meaning 1.5 V default voltage. However, you have the DUT3C and like mine it doesn't readily overclock beyond 2.2 Ghz.

Maybe it's not so easy to get a 2.4 Ghz Tbred for $50.

even i had believed so... but what is more interesting is I have a TBred-A 1800+, AIUGA 0230 and amazingly that is a DLT3C

Tbred A XP1700+/XP1800+ were all DLT3C. When Tbred B came out the XP1700+/XP1800+ initially switched to DUT3C (1.6 volt) but began changing back at week 0307 which is why yours is a surprise to me.

I've been jealous of the Tbred B DLT3C owners who can reach 2.3+ Ghz at anything under 1.85 volt core. With reasonable cooling I consider this a relatively safe voltage. Plus it's a convenient voltage because most mobos can do 1.85 V. Not all can do 2.25 V like the old Epox mobo I have here nor would any reasonable person want to take their CPU to 2.25 V.

Those CPUs that can do 2.1 Ghz on stock voltage (or very near it) just impress the h@ll out me.

I got my cpu from Newegg.com... Actually I bought the retail version because I needed the heatsink for a different system. It is the AXDA1700 JIUHB model...I don't know the other codes off hand, but I have them written down somewhere. The thing I'm mosted impressed with is how much it OCs on 1.6 voltage. I also know that the default voltage for this one is 1.5 Volts. I'll try and post the full code tonight....
