Swiftech Mc 462 problem

I have recently purchased the aforementioned HSF. When I first pulled it out of the box I saw that it had a seperate twelve volt molex connector. I thought "wow, guess this baby needs some juice huh?"
so then I realized that i had no additional molex connectors coming off my power supply, but i did have one goin into a sort of fan bus that i have made to attach a side, top and back, system fan. The fans runs into the "bus" and then it runs into the twleve volt PS connector. Well i thought to my self, why not cut the red and black wires coming off the HSF and run them into my bus. I did so and it worked well enough, or so i thought. I checked the cpu TTemp later and found under load it was running at 120 which is more that with my volcano. i also noticed the nouise wasnt nearly as bad as I had anticipated. So i resoldered the red and black wires to the molex pins and ran it straight to the power supply. SUCCESS! i now sounded like an airplane was constantly running in my room and it ran at 105 under load. My problem is , with no additional twelve volt wires coming out of the PS what can I hook my system fans up to, can i splice in another molex connector?(sorry for the massive post)

you can add theat Y connector, but if you have run out of connectors and are already using a fanbus I'm a little worried your PSU will be getting overloaded.

How many system devices do you have on molex connectors in your system and what PSU do you have - make and wattage?

Red is 5V, yellow is 12V. They mc462 has a 12v fan. I made that mistake myself but you should double check to make sure that the heatsink is on properly. Is the slit for the socket where it should be? Did you mobo need the plastic spacers between the screw holder? If it doesn't then the cpu will get no or bad contact (this is how I fried my 1ghz axia). If you used the spacers make sure they fit in the mobo the way they should, if they don't fit in with the top lip touching the mobo then you don't need them and should be taken out.
