Hi folks! I just got myself a new HSF combo consisting of the Swiftech MCX462B + PAPST 8412 NGML. Now you can imagine my excitement when powering on my system the first time, I mean it's not everyday you pay 100$ for a cooling thingy for your PC 🙂
Anyways, my problem is that it won't boot :-( When I try starting up it gives 1 long beep and then turns itself of. I've tried switching back to my old cooler and everything works fine, but with the new cooler it's the same result every time. I know I haven't mounted it wrongly because I've followed the mounting instruc. from Swiftech and I've tried to many times allready...

Anyone have any ideas whats going on? Please HELP me 🙂

Cheers,
Andy

System spec:

Chieftech Dragon w/340W.
ASUS A7V (KT133).
Athlon 1200@1300.
512MB brand name memory (can't remember the brand).
60GB 7200RPM IBM HD.
KYRO2 graphics card 64MB.
SB Live! value
Intel 10/100 NIC.
Media Forte TV Tuner card.
Plextor 16/10/40.
6X Aopen DVD.
19" Samtron 96P monitor.
Dualbooting Win98SE / WinXP pro.

Plug the chipset cooler fan where the CPU supposed to be plugged, and the CPU cooler plug it into the PSU instead of the motherboard. You can mod it so the motherboard still read your CPU fan speed.

Check your mb and see if the four mounting holes for the hsf are grounded. If the holes are silver
looking around them, it should be ok to mount the studs without the plastic washers.
If they are not silver use the plastic washers provided.
