As I am a programmer, I want to be mining with my GPU(gtx 1080ti) in the background.

##case 1: Taking monitor output from motherboard.

So my OS(Win 10) and other applications use the onboard graphics and everything runs fine from browsing to programming. If I start nicehash or start the bat file for mining the applications detect the gpu and it starts to work. Now when I stop mining to play games they don't use the dedicated gpu and torture my internal graphics.

##case 2:Taking monitor output from dedicated GPU (gtx 1080 ti)

When I am mining the gpu is under stress, and so basic tasks like browsing youtube hangs. But in this config , I can stop mining and play games without any issue.

So I want to know if there is anything I can do to use the onboard graphics primarily since my dedicated gpu is working for something else, and launch programs to use the dedicated graphics card when I want it to.

Solution
On a desktop machine you will have to run multiple video cables from the computer to the monitor. The onboard graphics are presented on the motherboard ports and the graphics card are presented on the card. Switching between them would be done on the monitor between inputs.
