switch ddr3 ram between computers?

so my laptop has been having problems & bsod so i ran a memory diagnostics test and it told me that my memory has a problem. i did some research and found that i should switch out my ram.

i have another computer thats a little older, but there's no problem with the memory/ram. they are both ASUS laptop, and both have ddr3 type ram. they also have the same 665.1 MHz frequency. the only difference seems to be the size, one is 6GB while the other is 4GB. i was wondering if i could switch the ram between the two, and would that solve the problem?

It's not that simple. The new memory needs to be compatible. Mixing memory gives no guarantee that it will actually work.

how do you check if the memory is compatible??
