Cpu support lists are not published for laptops. Same socket does not mean the bios is compatible so you can't go by that. You'd also run into heat and power issues with higher end cpus. You can try to contact sony but looking at the other models, it's only other 25w cpus, the highest being a 1.9ghz tri core. There's not really anything with a worthwhile difference to change to.

Well when it comes to laptops.

They follow a model line range, where you will have a series of laptops in the same range with slightly different or higher model numbers.

They are usually based on what speed of cpu are placed in the cpu socket of the laptop.
And can share the same Cpu socket for all of the model range of cpu`s used in the laptop model range.

If you can find this out then you have a good chance of swapping the existing cpu in the laptop for a higher rated speed cpu.
As long as it shares the same cpu socket of the laptop as the other models in the range you see with higher fitted cpu`s in speed.

So you need to post the exact sony viao its model name and the exact model number version found or located on the sticker of the underside of the laptop first.

Then you can workout if you can fit a higher speed of cpu in frequency to the laptop.
Post it back. May be able to tell you what cpu you can replace it with at a higher clock speed.
