Ok so I installed a 250GB SSD on my computer and installed windows 10 on it. I got it up and running and then installed the Samsung SSD software it came with. I clicked the setting to optimize the OS and then it also said I should boot into AHCI to use the full potential of the SSD. I went into the BIOS and changed the SATA boot type to AHCI but now whenever I boot it loads for a little and then says :( something went wrong and restarts. I am good with computers but on the programming side I am a rookie when it comes to hardware. I appreciate any help!

You can't switch it in your BIOS until after you tell windows you're making the switch!

Easy fix.
Switch back to IDE in your BIOS so it will boot.

Start REGEDIT and look for this line :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci\StartOverride
Change the 0 DWORD value from 3 to 0.

Shut down, go back to your BIOS and switch it to AHCI.
It will now boot in AHCI mode!
