Switching Cards in my Computer, what steps should I take?

Hello, I have a decent gaming rig and I have finally decided to switch out my graphics card from an outdated AMD card to a Nvidia 780. As I have never really been into building my own computer, I have no Idea where to start. Can I get some pointers on how this is done?

1. Remove all AMD video drivers. Driver Fusion should work.
2. Shut down PC.
3. Install new GPU.
4. Boot Windows and download and install the latest GeForce drivers corresponding to the Windows version and your GPU model.

Do everything thing Joseph said, however, ensure beforehand that you have a good enough power supply and the appropriate connectors that the 780 will require.

Before you do anything do this:

  ■Power off your computer.■Unplug your computer from the wall.■Wait 1-2 minutes before touching anything.■Before opening the side of the case, make sure to discharge any static electricity you may have by touching something grounded. (the corner of my Wii U actually works well for me =P )

Once you've done this you'll minimize doing any potential damage to your internal components.
