One of the problems you may run into is many Dell system don't use a standard ATX form factor for thier motherboards, the other is dell also doesnt use a standard pin-out for the power button, power led and hdd led, and the pin out is not available. dell just uses a cable to connect the front panel to the motherboard using a proprietary connection. First you need to check the spacing of the mounting holes and ports on the board to verify it will even fit into another case, then if the motherboard fits you get to spend a bit of time mapping the front panel connections. This is actually unpleasant, but workable, finding if motherboard holes are standard ATX, is more interesting.
Will look through my archives tomorrow. It would be nice if OP could save me some time by naming motherboard model, thank you.
