Switching disk C and disk D as permanent storage

Hi! I recently bought a custom built PC and had them assemble it for me, and sadly I didn't check the system before going as I was in a hurry. Upon checking it seems they installed the 128 GB SSD on the local disk C and the 1TB HDD on local disk D, now windows is installing everything on local disk C which of course I want on the disk D since it's the 1TB, I did check on google for some help but unfortunately I only found ways on partitioning and putting some files on disk D. If I can't switch them is there anyway to get disk D as the main storage rather than disk C?

Solution

The 128GB SSD (C drive) is supposed to be the OS drive. THat's why you have an SSD. Speed.
(I would have gotten larger than 128GB for that, but let's move on...)...
You'll want to keep the SSD as the boot drive. This will create more system responsiveness overall as well as reduced boot times. Use the 1TB HDD for the installation of programs you install and the games you download. That is why the SSD is installed to C:

"now windows is installing everything on local disk C"
Correct. That is because you are allowing those applications to do whatever they have set as the default.
Don't do that.

For the vast majority of applications, you can choose what drive or folder it gets installed on, when you install it.
Select Custom or Advanced, and choose the D drive.

For other things, you can designate other locations as the default save place.

Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

For Steam games, you can easily designate a different drive or folder for the install/default location.
Thusly:

In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders

Thank you so much for all the answers I really appreciate it, I did try to move some folders like the Documents, Pictures, Videos, Downloads, etc. to disk D but It seems some of the files like the users still go on disk C, I'll be checking some more of the tutorials on the post and I'll be sure to follow them. Once again thank you so much for the help!

Yes, some things do end up on the C drive. That's just the way it is.
And do NOT try to move the entire /Users/ folder. You will live to regret it.

I tried moving Appdata too, would that be okay? Seems I'm getting problems with some games as they're still saving some of the files on C's appdata, should I revert it back?

Nooooo....moving that also results in tears.
Leave it as is on the SSD.
