My new PC Build will feature a 256GB Mx100 from Crucial.

My current PC features a 500GB 7200RPM HDD.

I will be doing a fresh install on the SSD.

However my HDD is practically full, which means it has stuff on it I require, So how do I uninstall the windows off it without removing anything else?

Solution

Just be sure to set the SSD as the defualt boot drive in the BIOS so you dont have to pick it everytime you boot.

I know but Windows takes up 30GB's of space I could use to store other stuff so...is there really no way to take it off?

You can simply delete it since its on a secondary drive now.

So would I delete System32 or the whole Windows folder?

The easiest and best possible solution is to get an external drive, back up your data (pictures, music, movies, documents, etc.), if your hoping to save your programs thats a no go, after the drive is wiped you can reinstall them to the drive. Issue is they save registry keys that when using an operating system on the ssd they never had those keys entered.

This all sounds so cojmplicated since msot of the stuff is programs and games, so..........I'#ll probably jsut leave windows on there......(it's only 30GB) and sue the SSD as the boot drive.
