Switching from an AMD to Intel motherboard?

So eventually I want to switch from AMD to Intel as my current motherboard is rather lacklustre and I can't exactly upgrade my CPU any higher on this socket (FM2+), so changing is an option to consider.

My current specs:

AMD Athlon X4 860k @ 4GHz
8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM (Team-elite-1600)
931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 SATA Disk Device (SATA)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (MSI)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. F2A68HM-HD2 (P0)
Case: CiT 1017

What board should I be looking at getting? I don't want to get something overly-expensive. Something that's good and that possibly has OC potential. One that has good upgrade path is preferred obviously.

Would my RAM and Hard Drive be compatible with whatever motherboard gets chosen? What should I do with the CPU once it's removed? Where should it be stored if I don't throw it away?

Any video guides that are informative and show the process of moving from AMD to Intel? I've never done anything like this before, so I don't want to mess anything up.

I'm guessing I also need to invest in some anti-static bags to put the components in while I make the transfer - any recommendations as to where to buy these from?
