[SOLVED] Switching from graphic login

So I'm running Ubuntu 20. LTS. It opens to the graphic screen.

What I'd like:

1. Boot up into terminal mode.
2. Execute a command to start graphic mode.

Once graphic mode is started, can I exit back out?

Also, during installation, it never prompted me for a root password. Is there still a root account?

I don't have Linux right now, but once upon a time, <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<Backspace> used to kill the X-Server.
